PRICING
The Hydrospace S4 is clearly the most expensive “stand up” jet ski, which boasts a staggering price tag of $12,995 MSRP. This compares to the Kawasaki 800SX-R at $5,995 MSRP and the Yamaha Superjet at $6,499. The difference becomes visible in the physical make-up and attributes of the watercrafts.
POWER
Under the hood the S4’s race inspired four-stroke turbocharged engine pumps out 110 horsepower delivering awesome acceleration and a top speed of 55 mph. The Yamaha Superjet and the Kawasaki 800XR-R provide just 73bhp and 80 bhp @ 6,250 rpm respectively.
HULL
The ultra light, high-strength hull is extremely nimble and features integrated sponsons that run the length of the craft. Add to that features like a stainless steel set-back jet pump, aluminum handlepole, lever activated hydraulic drop nozzle, and cambered foot tray and you will agree that the Hydrospace S4 is “made for racing”.
The S4’s has one of the larger hull's in the “stand-up” class, measuring 90.1 ins in length and 29.1 ins in width. Kawasaki’s 800 SX-R measures a similar 90.6 ins in length and 28.7 ins in width, whilst the Yamaha Superjet hosts the smallest hull at just 88.2 ins in length and 26.8 ins.
WEIGHT
370 lbs in dry weight makes the Hydrospace S4 the heaviest ski in the “Stand up” class of jet ski’s, with the Kawasaki SX-R 800 being in closest comparator at 351 lbs. Again, the Yamaha Superjet, like its hull size, sits apart from the crowd with its weight being the lightest in class at just 291 lbs.
